When someone dies

No matter how much or how little warning we have, the death of a near relative or friend is always unexpected, and a shock. It takes time to grieve and there will be times when it is difficult to cope.
Often the only immediate steps will be to register the death and to arrange the funeral, but in some cases it will be necessary to take swift action to safeguard the deceased's property and possessions.

We can assist in many ways :
~ should the executors or the next of kin arrange the funeral
~ who pays for the funeral if there is not enough money
~ who collects the deceased's possessions from the hospital
~ who is responsible for the deceased's house or flat or car
~ when do you need letters of administration rather than probate
~ who takes the deceased's possessions where there is no will
~ what if this is contested
~ what tax returns have to be completed

We have administered thousands of estates and have extensive experience of obtaining grants of probate and letters of administration, and of advising on tax and post death variations. We also conduct cases disputing the validity of wills or the fairness of the division of the estate. We are often appointed as executors ourselves. We charge at reasonable rates which are clearly detailed in our terms of business
